The wbfs tool version 2.2 (link is on http://www.theotherzone.com/wii ) auto downloads the covers and lets you manage the USB harddrive from your PC using a very nice neat and easy to use GUI - I think most are going for this as its easy and very little work needs to be done.

if there is a demand for it I will be releasing an upgrade with gameid naming.
I stop bringing up the development because except shadow#1 no one seems to be interested and I hate to clutter the forum
plus I need feedback to improve it.

hello everyone,

this is a quick tool to download all your covers from wii.ds-scene
I picked ds-scene because they do not have any watermark on their cover.
the process is pretty simple.
I simply open a web page including their release list
parse it to grab the needed information
and download/resize/rename the cover

don't expect anything fancy.
I started that for for my personal use.

but as I see that nothing is "really" out except nIxx download option (which by the way downloads EVERYTHING from gbatemp including non-wii covers) I decided to share it with you.

for this matter I quickly added a parameter allowing you to choose which covers you want to download
and more important all the covers are downloaded, resized (160x226) and renamed :
GAME (REGION) [RELEASE NUMBER IN DS-SCENE].PNG

making it easy to deal with

I am planning on adding different options, including either a gui or at least an ini file to give you more control, and maybe even a progress status

- region you want to download
- destination folder
- resize option
- naming convention
- starting cover (to allow you chunk downloading)

I am also trying to see if I can find enough sources with GAMEID thus giving you the obvious choice of naming it directly to the gameid.
but unless we find a way to have an online participative DB (on wiibrew?, but they will probably consider that as hackers material, I dunno), I doubt that I will reach any success on that.

once again, don't flame me for this pre-pre-pre alpha release.
I will work on that tomorrow if I find time, and if anyone has some good idea to share feel free to let me know, I am at such an early stage of the process that I could include it.

you will find 2 .exe in this archive
convert.exe (used to do the image conversion)
WII-cover 0.1.exe (which is my application)

put both in a folder and run :
WII-cover_beta0.1.exe ALL
WII-cover_beta0.1.exe PAL
WII-cover_beta0.1.exe NTSC-U
WII-cover_beta0.1.exe NTSC-J
WII-cover_beta0.1.exe NTSC-KOR

knowing I did not include a progress I have left the IE page open so you have a clue on were you are standing....

I hope it helps until I improve it and/or someone makes a real application for this purpose

ooppssss... ok.. shoot me.. must have been really messed up when I updated the post.
sorry it is fixed..
still beta 0.2.. I have not compiled version 0.3 yet.

implemented in 0.3.
fixing error in the log processing (the size of the edit box is limited so at one point it stops moving)
added a file log to.. so you know exactly what happened
fixing error for downloading (added a retry counter)
added a error log so any file which could not be downloaded there is listed
added the settings.ini (finally)
temptative download game selection (not sure it is going to be in 0.3)
removed region from the name as the files are now saved in the appropriate folder
(a tag appears for PAL region as it can have multiple release (MULTI 3/4/5/6.... etc)
more interesting for a lot of us settings.ini has the SIZE.. so you can resize to ANYTHING you want

I will be releasing it tomorrow,
until then feel free to add any wish you have

while i havent posted very muchon gbatemp, mostly in teh last few days with usb loader suggestions and what not, and i would NEVER EVER condone stealing someone else's work (even if its open source or doesnt belong to them in teh first place)...

very good site for extremely high quality scans of boxes AND DISCS! you could be the first to use disc images instead of box scans. wouldnt that be a nifty thing to a image based usb loader? spinning disc images! awesome, aweome to the max.

The thing i noticed about this site not all the covers are of the correct size like the madworld cover so not a good idea to directly pull covers off this site without proper resizing

im also having problem seeing the downloaded file. when the downloader starts to download the covers i see the .jpg files, which i assume is being processed since they disappear a short time after. but after that, nothing. there are no PNGs to be found anywhere.

could you give me some information on your setup ?
operating system
location of my application
is the convert.exe in the same folder ? (I did not put any check for that. I will add it, or even I might fully embed the apps in mine. or develop my own conversion tool... will see)

next release (due hopefully tomorrow) will allow you to define your own size in a setting.ini

I could easily add a secondary size if you want me to.
if left empty it won't do anything, but if filled it will create a duplicate with the alternate size.
to differentiate them I can add a prefix or a suffix.

The loader have auto download feature, but it's slow, and missing several from the few game i test.

Btw, the best iso loader for now.
