Hi guys. I have a reservation for Switch 2, and have a couple questions regarding the System:

1. I recently purchased an 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 wireless controller that does work on my OLED Switch. Do you guys think it would work with Switch 2?

2. I purchased an 256GB mSD Express card for Switch 2, and have a pre-order for an 1TB mSD Express card that should be coming shortly after Switch 2 releases. For the System Transfer from Switch 1 to 2, should I use the 256GB card, or wait till I get the 1TB card for System Transfer?

Thoughts and help appreciated :)

It will most likely work because I am pretty sure Nintendo has said that Joy-Con 1 controllers will work on Switch 2 (but probably wirelessly only.) I would think 3rd party S1 controllers and S1 pro controllers will work too, they just cant attach because these no magnet mechanism in them. The only button missing on old controllers is the GameChat button I think, if you wanted that for some reason.

It depends if you want to wait a bit longer for the 1TB. I would think speeds would be slower during transfer for the 1TB. I think this is mostly up to your own preference though.

Enjoy your Switch 2 when you get it!

Nintendo has confirmed the NS1 pro controllers will work with the new system.
[I can't post links yet, but google 'switch 2 accessories compatibility' and click the top result for a handy chart straight from Nintendo]

I haven't heard anything official on third-party stuff like 8BitDo gamepads yet, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't if all of the old 1st party accessories will be compatible.

Thank you for the info! Has Nintendo clarified how the transfer process will work? My OLED Switch has a 1.5TB mSD card, about half full. I read that games will start downloading automatically during transfer process? I might run out of room on the Switch 2 if it does do that, as the largest mSD Express card available is 1TB... How should I prepare for this? Further thoughts and help appreciated :)

Someone else on here has had the same issue. Simply just clear out games you dont hardly play anymore, and you can probably redownload them later if you use the same nintendo account.

To my knowledge I dont think we know much about the transfer process yet.

Hi again guys. I have a pre-order for an 1TB mSD Express card Gamestop brand, but I already purchased and have a 256GB mSD Express card, in preparation for when I get my Switch 2 and initiate System Transfer from my OLED Switch. My OLED Switch has an 1.5TB mSD card, and most of my games are on that. My question is, should I cancel the Gamestop pre-order for the 1TB mSD Express card? I submitted the order using Paypal, but a Gamestop rep said they don't process payment until item is available and ready to ship. I am questioning cancelling because I might not have enough money in my bank account to cover the Paypal transaction, and I get paid bi-weekly. I will only get 1 more check from work before pre-order might be processed. Thoughts and help appreciated. :)

Note: I have read that the Gamestop brand of card might be a risk/garbage. But I have looked at other online sites, and am unable to find another brand of 1TB mSD Express card.

I have a question about Switch 2...

If I have internet enabled, but am not logged in to my Nintendo account, can the game cart receive its update?

I know I'll risk the console getting auto updated, though.

Thanks.

I would think so. Updates haven't needed an account before.
