Gaming Counter for Rage Quiters!?

I really wouldn't even care if the only way they could do it even punished the people with legitimate disconnects - if your internet is so unstable that it could hurt your score, you probably shouldn't be caring much about online gaming, right?

I just am really having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that 9 out of 10 people would rather turn off their DS, load the game up, talk to the wifi girl, go through the menus, go down the elevator, wait to connect, select the game type, and play again. Instead of GIVING +1 WINS TO THE PERSON WHO BEAT THEM!!

Again, I'm playing in the "free" mode so it's not like the LOSSES even get displayed publicly!!

How are people who love a game based on cute, colorful animals so BLOODY MEAN!?!?

In the last 2 days I've played about 30 matches. 4 wins (1 by forfeit), 6 losses, the rest disconnects.

Bloody. Hell.

It's fucking awful, yesterday I had 10 battles and fucking dicks disconnected all. Seriously WTF. My record only has one win and one loss, that's fucking only two battles and I've had over 50! They need a system like mario kart where you disconnect you lose points and the other gains. Whatever this is fucked up.

i can think of a good idea to prevent rage-quitters without severely affecting accidental dropouts, but i dunno if there's any games that do this.

it'll go like this. if at any time during a match, you get disconnected or quit consciously, you're given dropout flag, maybe yellow. if you dropout again immediately after that, you get redflagged. redflagged players either are active quitters, or people with bad connection.

but flags shouldn't stick long, especially yellow flags where it could be accidental only, and was a 1-time offense. if you make it through 5 consecutive battles w/o quitting/dropping, you lose the yellow flag and become just like everybody else, meaning you're a fair fighter. red flags go away after 10 consecutive battles, to give even quitters a chance to getting back on people's good terms.

conversely, people with good match records (no quit after 10+ consecutive battles) gets a star, meaning they're good choices for a match.

of course, there's no way that that system's gonna happen anytime in the near future, unless by some miracle someone reads this and starts figuring out how to implement it.
