Meh, since it's the 1000 model with the OLED screen and poor battery life it'll be a home console and kept clean.
I had a pikachu 3ds xl but sold it for the zelda 3ds xl because the white on the inside near the screen washed it out. A 3DS with black (or gold) around the screen makes it pop better.

That's mostly the only concern I have with these two vitas. That they'll be too light near the bright screen. The blue looks darker but I'm more drawn to the red one.

one thing that bothers me about the red is that the PS button in the bottom left (below the left stick) is blue >_<
Over all I'm still liking the red more but I think it'll be too light next to the screen T_______T

If I had to pick one of those I'd pick blue, but I'd go for the original black Vita over either of those.

I consulted with a graphix design kid I go to school with and he pointed out that the red vita looks a bit like the tone of red on the flame red 3ds

also he has convinced me that the red doesn't produce as much of a contrast between it and the screen as the blue does and will do the same thing as a 3DS that's white on the inside.
Plus the bezel on the vita being silver I think works better with the blue than the red.

I'll probably end up getting blue. Too bad that the red wasn't slightly darker (blood red) with a black bezel and red light.
