Hello everyone, i'm back!
So, i've been trying to crack my switch for over a month now without success. I've gotten as far as to play 32 hours on pokemon but then my games get corrupt and i need to redownload them. I can't even do that now because tinfoil is stuck at downloading at 0 bytes, other downloaders like tinwoo don't work ether.
Any ideas? I don't want to resort to changing the sd card reader just yet.

Plug in the SD Card in your PC.
Start CMD
CHKDSK /F /R/X X: (X: = the name of the partition of the SDCard)

Wait

Sounds like a broken SD Card filesystem.

Correction
CHKDSK /F /R /X X: (X: = the name of the partition of the SDCard)
There was a missing space ;)
It's ADATA and it's formatted to FAT32
FAT32 is preferred, so that's good.
The SD card might be faulty. I had a Transcend card that only lasted a few months before dying, and all the data went corrupt.

It says that if you entered the wrong drive letter. Make sure the drive letter matches the one of the SD card.
That means CHKDSK /F /R /X X: and replace X: with the correct drive letter.

In his case, it was definitely his MicroSD card, but most shops that are still up for the public for free are outdated. The good shops require you to donate/pay. Even after downloading an outdated game from a free public shop, it should still run fine, though it will tell you the game requires additional downloads. From my experience, you'll just end up missing DLCs and updates. I use Teknik, but many of the games aren't up-to-date. Now I use my PC to install NSPs.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
