Copper's MAME EMUs
NDS Homebrew Updates
CopperArcadeEmulators.png

Copper has updated all of his arcade emulators for the DS. Most of them now include saving/loading, and all have been compiled with the latest libnds, so they can be played on the Cyclo iEvo's DSi mode, and also via the Sudokuhax exploit. Check the download links for change log information, and visit the devs project posts for the inside scoop about the individual games. Also be sure to check out Another World's post below for more information and an off-site archive which includes all of the updated files.

if you are running dspack for the first time you will need the art files:

if you are running mr do for the first time you will need the art files:
http://www.dev-fr.org/index.php?action=dla...6.0;attach=2541

setup info said:
  • Put the MAME's ROM files at the root or in the /MAMERoms subdirectory on your flashcard.
  • ROMs should stay zipped
  • it's now possible to display differents cabinets (.cbt), captures (.cpt), flyers (.flr), marquees (.mrq) for each games.
Files resources must be copied in the same roms's folder (root or in the /MAMERoms subdirectory on your flashcard)

well that info should sort you all. i hope copper releases some new emulators, although updates are nice. dspack even added support for 2 new files.

using the list above the roms which have typ0 names for the current mame set have the same typos in the emulator. so after you grab the correctly named mame rom .zip files you will need to rename them (incorrectly) to match the list copper has provided in the readme. after that everything will work.

Glad to see someone posted these in HB news. My topics on them in DS homebrew were getting little to no attention, and these are really great little emus, with all of the little things like auto-moving screens and multi-rom version support. I recall using Mr. Do DS and Bombjack DS quite a lot a while back

CanyonDS does not want to work for me, I have the required rom sets for it and when I go to boot one the rom sets it just sits there with a crap load of 0"s and a pic of the blimp with the banner at the bottom and does nothing else.

Hi,

Didn't want to resurrect an old thread - but i've run into a dead end?

I've successfully got copper's Mr.Do! emu running perfectly on DS so very happy.
I've now run into difficulties with the dspack - I simply can't find the mame 0.143 roms anywhere (I believe this is the rom set required).

Also, the link to the art file no longer exisits.

If you could help me out here?
Would love to experience mame on my DS.

Many Thanks

hello,
i am responding because you PMed me to tell me you posted here. these files were 2 computers and a few HDDs ago. while i am confident i could find everything you need, i honestly do not have the urge to dig through scattered backups.

i can offer this much help:
here is the last version of DS Pack: https://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/emulators/download-ds-pack-1-9-5-f28231.html
here are all the art files off my AK2: https://filetrip.net/dl?oFQwK60K8j

i do not know if those art files are 100% complete, they would have been what Copper gave me back in the day when I was beta testing for him.

we can not provide ROM files or links here at GBAtemp. Unfortunately, the MAME info sites I once used to compile specific ROMs for these EMUs are no longer online. I would recommend you read up on the tool Clr Mame Pro (https://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/). with the proper dat file you can scan any modern MAME archive and pull out most of the "old" ROMs you'll need.

with all that said, 1 google search (literally just typed "mame 1.43 set") .......... give that a try?

good luck. it is always great to see people coming back to the old DS homebrew and giving it a try. i wish i still knew how to get in touch with copper, just to let him know his files are still appreciated.
