Having so much fun with the OG xbox

Anyone have a modded one too? I have one crystal and a black one, The crystal one had a capacitor i didnt know existed leak but the black one had it removed so now im wiser, I love playing on it just wish insignia worked ive tried every tweak available, Guess its for offline for now, The 360 is like 21 years old now from 2005 so i guess you can call that retro and i enjoy that one too aswell as the 20 year old PS3.

Any cool games you reccomend for these? Im building a library here Hehe

I stopped using my OG Xbox around 2004, and then played on it some more around 2012 for a while when I bought a few games for it from estarland. Since then, I haven't turned it on. Probly needs a full recap to be safe. It has never been modded even though I've been intending to for years. Always somewhere else the money needs to go.

I bought my first Xbox OG in the end of 2022, it was one with a defective HDD but with 2 controllers and a original RGB SCART cable for only €15,-.

Back then I bought it just to try repairing it for fun. I got it running by reading the EEPROM with a Raspberry Pi and prepare/lock a fresh HDD with a softmod for it. Later on I got the TSOP flashed with Cerbios and repaired some trace corrosion on the board.

In the meantime, I joined a group of local retro enthusiasts who regularly play online games via Insignia, such as PGR2, Midtown Madness 3, Halo 2, Outrun 2, and Crimson Skies. I join the games as well, even though I am often the least skilled player.

Now, I have 5 Xbox OG's, all black ones. I modded all of them with larger IDE HDD's and Cerbios on the TSOP (one has a Modxo chip). And one has the 128MB RAM upgrade soldered. Three of them are recapped because of leaking capacitors.

Some months ago I recapped a Crystal one for a guy which stopped working because of bulged caps, he only uses it to watch movies. But he also gave me a black one with bulging caps for me to keep or scrap. I end up recapping/modding it and gave it to a friend so she can join the Insignia games when we play with the group.

My favorite Xbox OG game to play online is Midtown Madness 3 "Stayaway"/"Rabbit Mode" :wub:

Sadly, the group I'm part of only plays this game a couple times a year. Sometimes I play this game locally using LAN/System Link if a friend comes over, she also likes this game. But she plays too good, most of the time I loose.

Hey that looks awesome, I will get back to you once i figure out what to write haha, But overall the setup looks very nice, Im kinda jealous, And you got the kinect to react to body right too i guess? Mine struggle because i have it too close it says but my apartment is not that big, Howewer the sofa will ruin the view angle for it unless i have it on the actual sofa tower the one for the back rest haha, So i stand at the back of the room, Howewer kinectimals and wipeout have worked fine for now, I even tried it and my cat was like, WTF you doing hooman hahaha, Also i have a OG xbox and a OG xbox crystal, The crystal is dead because of a capacitar leak

Anyway i also mod stuff, I got an XL patch for the 360 and a 2TB samsung 870QC bad boy for it HEHE
Howewer i am baffled that xbox characters on 360 look so cartoony and their mouth in speech look so funny compared to PS3 but PS3 had a blu ray drive that could read 50gb DVDs While the xbox compress it to 8.5 maybe that is why, I notice that for me things does look better on the PS3 in some games.

Is that PS2 loaded with OPL?

Nice wii setup, You should play that wii sports, Its a classic to die for tbh.

I presume that switch is modded too hehe.

Im in the process of building a OPL PS2

I also try hard to find a DVD writer for burning PS2 discs but not sure which working because the laser might be dead and the thinny ones always "Swearword" up the writing, Bought one and it gave up on me after one burnament

Got a refund tho.
