Homebrew connecting to internet on RXtools

how do i know my nands are unlinked? i believe i tried this but i dont have emunand setup so i will have to try it again

i keep getting an error saying "the semephore timeout period has expired" when trying to backup my files, rip me

im using an SDCH card i bought from bestbuy a month ago, its 16GB
That isn't exactly important. I use a Philips Class 10 16GB microSD card, and it's still finnicky as hell.

What's your OS? If you use OS X or Linux I recommend using rsync (it allows for smart resuming when it's interrupted). It's a terminal command though, so you need to read up on it. On Windows I have no idea what you can do.

Also are you using FTP to copy your files or a card reader? Because FTP has many issues in it's own way and a card reader is the better option.

I know a guide that i can use to install emunand, its the one i used to install sysnand i guess im gonna have to format Sysnand then

so if i have emunand installed then i can safely update to 11.0 and still be able to use homebrew?
Yes, once you install an emunand you can update it and it won't affect your HomeBrew. You will just have to rename your payload files to 11.0.0-33 or *hax* may not read it correctly.

EDIT: Didn't mean to answer to what everyone else said. The other posts didn't load for me. Carry on.

where would the payload be? in the emunand file?

Payload is on root of SD. Its pretty obviously named, originally. To play online, switch to Luma3DS (download latest release, as well as nightly -merge the two and throw on SD) and update emunand to 11.0 (when configuring Luma at start, check option to display current NAND in settings.. if system ver says "emu" youre good to update)

i kind of understand that, im gonna try this once my sd card is done backing up

Are you saying you cant copy the "Nintendo 3DS" folder from SD to PC due to timeout errors? If this is the case.. replace SD card, as its garbage.

damn i just bought this too

im just deleting the nintendo 3ds file, it should work without the file for now
