Misc connecting the wii using the wifi max

ok so yeh i know i haven't yet got my wii but i intend to get it this week.
my question is this, will the datel wifi max allow me to connect to the internet on both my wii and my ds?
has anyone had trouble trying to get the wifi max to connect?
do i really need a wii specific version or will the psp or ds one connect just as well?
how safe is the connection once it is set up?
i connect via a cable modem although the cable isn't always connected to the pc so, is this the best method?

The Wifi Max will be fine for all 3 consoles. I used to use one before I got my router sorted

In all seriousness you can get a cable router for around £30 at your local pissy wurld

thanks darlin'. i'm so excited that the adapters coming and i'm buying my wii tomorrow i installed the drivers ready for connection.

ok i have a problem there wasn't a disk with it but i dowloaded the drivers from codejunkies but i'm sure i've gone wrong somewhere because the connection keeps dropping or is really low.

i'm using my ds to test and i can't get it to connect to the server. the signal strength is high enough.

i've tried everything apart from switching it off and on and the connection won't bridge either.

well i got as far as updating the wii then the connection dropped again. jessus h on a stick, i can see i'll end up buying a wireless router at this rate.

Well I have a wireless router and sometimes it just doesn't work.
Are you using WEP or WPA encryption?

which one would be better to use?

In my experience the router was easier to set up

Make sure you get the right type! Cable routers are different beasts compared to normal ones
