So a few days ago I bought a Wii after a bit of scouting out the modding/hacking scene. I thought it looked easy enough to take a crack at, I bought it and started away installing mods. At this point in time I've successfully installed The Homebrew Channel using letterbomb and installed cIOS/DX2 using a guide linked to me on Reddit that was maintained recently. My issue now is getting some information on USB loaders and ISO's, hard drives, formats and what not as it's all rather outdated what I find and I've rather confused my self going back and forth. So I have a few questions to get me over the hump and possibly sort me completely.

1. I'm planning on using USB loader GX with my current mods, any better options?
2. I have a 1TB external USB 3.0 Hard Drive formatted in NTFS with my games set up :root/wbfs/game name[Game ID]/Gameid.iso is this correct and supported?
3. I have a PAL console so do all my ISO's have to be PAL?
4. I managed to load an ISO of wii sports off my hard drive last night but it always booted back to homebrew whenever I launched the game, since then I've adjusted my cIOS/Dx2 because I found an up to date guide. Today that's gone and now I have all the standard wii channels loaded, can anyone explain what I did wrong/right?
5. Of these questions does anybody need any extra info or have some reccomended steps to get me running backups quicker?

All help appreciated guys!
