can there be a different forwarder channel for this loader? the Ultimate USB Loader uses the same forwarder and that is the one that loads up when I enter it and not this loader? thanks

is it possible please?

Hi there,

The USB Loader is great - I have two minor problems I have noticed and wondered if anyone else had the same issue. I use Preloader to autorun the dol file - that way I can get straight into the USB Loader menu. The USB HDD self-powers on when the wii starts - if I turn the Wii on, when Preloader starts up the USB Loader, the USB Loader menu will count to 30 and time out without finding the Hard Drive. When the Wii resets and restarts the USB Loader, it detects fine (only takes a few seconds) and everything is great. If I power on the Wii and wait for the USB loader to start and reset almost straight away, when USB Loader starts the Hard drive is detected okay as well. I have tried some other USB Loaders to see if it occurs with them as well, but others seem okay. (I have tried Uniiloader and Childproof loader and they seemed to work okay).

The second problem is when I am in the gui mode and hold down the power on the wiimote, the wiimote turns off but the wii doesn't until I turn the wiimote back on and hit "B" to go back to the standard menu (then the wii turns off).

Thanks a lot - this has replaced my entire Wii system menu and makes it easy for the kids to select the games they want to play.

obviously not. what wii version do you have? what firmware version? what usb loader? what preloader version? what cios?

Sorry - I should have added some "real" information.

I'm using the latest version (cfg v31 (release)) of the configurable usb loader. I'm running on firmware 3.2E (PAL Wii). Preloader is version 0.28 and I have tried CIOS 36 rev 10, then upgraded to CIOS 38 rev 12. Now I'm back on CIOS 36 Rev 9 now as Rev 12's USB performance seemed a lot slower (Try the intro on Super Mario Galaxy and you'll see what I mean

I have also tried using a fat32 partition for the config/covers and SD card as well.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else is using Preloader to boot this directly and how it works for them.

But cfg is based on rev10, not rev9. Right ?

Yep - I think if you want SDHC capability. I did try with Rev10 - but I had the same issue - that's why I tried going back to Rev9. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the report, seems you are right, I have tested this a bit and it seems fat32 has to be the first partition to work. Looks like a problem with libfat, so it wont be fixed soon. For the moment we'll just have to deal with this limitation. I will update the doc.

Hi oggzee, I previously tested the fat32 with the USB Loader GUI-FX. I used a fat 32 partition at the second position without any trouble. But I don't know if it uses the libfat as you. The only thing was to set active that I have forgotten the first time. So I assume that it is possible to do it.

I have had no time to try with your loader yet, perhaps today.

I don't use the preloader, so I don't know what's wrong

Works with both, but rev10 is required if you want to run games off the SD card.

Please do and let me know if you manage to make it work with fat32 as second partition.
I haven't played with the active flag.
btw, which partition editor did you use?
I'm using gparted live cd...

Addiction = bad.
Addicted to almost daily cfg loader build = bad.
oggzee makes cfg loader.
Conclusion, oggzee = bad.

You bad thing!

Wow!

I was surfing through the USB Loader GX threads.

Seems they're have issues with cIOS Rev 12 and their latest releases are reported buggy and unstable.

This is still the best loader available.

It's not the prettiest, fastest and/or comes dummy proof but it just works!

***cIOS Rev 12 approved***

I use a pall wi in 3.2E with cios rev9.

The fat 32 partition works fine.

On sd i renamed config.txt to config2.txt in apps directory and i renamed usb-loader directory to another name so I have only the .dol file on sd.

On my usb hdd (maxtor basics 1To) I have three partitions : 1) wbfs (500 Go), 2) fat 32 (32 Go) and 3) ntfs (remaining space) in this order. The fat32 is the only active one.

When I run the loader no pbm I have covers.I am sure they are loaded from hdd because I modified one cover to test.

To partition I used the tool of windows xp.

One question : Do i need to let usb-loader directory on sd for themes or can i use the usb-loader folder on hdd ?

Thanks for the report, so it looks that the requirement for the fat32 partition to be the first one is not always true.
You can remove usb-loader on SD and use only usb-loader on usb hdd fat partition.
Themes, backgrounds, covers, music, config, everything will be read from the usb hdd fat then.

Force 50HZ Games like Karous, Ultimate Shooting Collection don`t work with this loader (but with all otheres like Coverflow, GX and Ultimate). Maybe the problem is that you can not choose Force Pal 50HZ and VidTV Patch together?

Could be, is vidtv in other loaders required to play this?
If so, I will make the vidtv a separate option. (as Narolez already suggested a while ago)
I thought about making it a separate option before but couldn't find any game that needs this so I just didn't touch it.

I have no problem with Karous and Ultimate Shooting Collection. My setting is "Game Default". My only problem with the game is it's sucks.

Sweet. I went back to the following test disk...

Test 1: 1Gb WD drive
Partition 1: 600GB WBFS
Partition 2: 1.9GB FAT32
Partition 3: 163GB NTFS
Partition 4: 165GB NTFS
does not recogonize FAT32

I marked Partition 2 as active and now USB loader recognizes the partition just fine.

Also I had another idea..
For covers, could there be an option to set your preference of covers? For instance I like 3D, but not all covers are out there in 3D form. I was thinking the ability to set a preference by rank like...

cover style = 3D, 2D, Disc

This would first search for a 3d cover, if fail, search for a 2D cover then disc.

Or

cover style = Disc, 2D

would search for a disc, then if fail try 2D.

Thanks again for the great loader!!!

Maybe the cover shows when we selecting games (as per normal), then the disc image shows a little while once a game is selected.
