PsyBlade said:yes, can be done
1) remove unneeded partitions (update, ...)
2) find files you can live without (cinematics, music, audio track, ...)
and replace them with the smallest file of its type that you can find
eg Other M was made single layer by making every cinematic the same one
actually that is possible tooganon45 said:Aside from that, is it possible to make it a multi-disc even though the game isn't innately a multi-disc game

in every disc you make, keep some of the files you replace in there original state
working out when to change disc will be tricky though
best I can think of is trial and error
like if the wrong cinematic shows up reset, change disc and reload an old save
Winrar can help you browse files inside an .iso.ganon45 said:PsyBlade said:yes, can be done

What program do I use that allows me to do that?

I don't use winrar butmachomuu said:Winrar can help you browse files inside an .iso.
What do you use?PsyBlade said:I don't use winrar butmachomuu said:Winrar can help you browse files inside an .iso.
you know that wii ".iso"s do not contain the iso filesystem (aka iso9660 or cdfs)
people just insist on calling then that for some idiotic reason
Don't see the importance of it but I use midnight commander or ark for most file compression tasks, machomuu said:What do you use?
Also, I know nothing about the iso filesystem, but the game is the iso and as such that is where one would remove un-needed content.
Actually, thanks for that, I've been wondering why they wouldn't work in UltraISO, and apparently it doesn't work in Winrar either, I'll try the tools you said later.PsyBlade said:Don't see the importance of it but I use midnight commander or ark for most file compression tasks, machomuu said:What do you use?

mount and growisofs for real isos,
and wiimm's wit for wii images
yes he would need to remove the files from the iso
but the so called wii "iso"s are not isos at all
winrar might be able to open them too, but I really doubt it
but as I don't use it I can't check
did you try it?
Which is why I'm asking the question, duhPsyBlade said:could be possible too
but I doubt the saved space would suffice
and I'm reasonably sure that someone capable of figuring out how to compress them better
while still staying compatible with the decompresser would not ask these questions
If you like to tinker go ahead, but even if you pull it off I think we reached a point where simply importing it would be both cheaper and faster.
Would this, by chance, have anything to do with Xenoblade Chronicles?ganon45 said:Which is why I'm asking the question, duhPsyBlade said:could be possible too
