The tweak probably needs to be updated for iOS 6.x; there are quite a number of internal changes, after all.

I updated the guide with links for evasi0n 1.1. It contains the fix for the Weather app crashing, and squashes a few other bugs. If you already jailbroke with evasi0n, you can get the fix in the form of an update in Cydia.
whats the name of the fix?
mine still crashes

evasi0n 1.2 has been released. Here's the full changelog, if anyone is interested.

Version 1.2
~~~~~~~~~~~
- Disable OTA updates.
- Correct timezone issue in evasi0n binary if client fails to correct it.
Version 1.1
~~~~~~~~~~~
- prevent Weather app from appearing on iPads.
- mitigated the long reboot issue.
- fix issue with not working after connecting multiple iOS devices
- fix blinking of the jailbreak instructions on OS X.
- codesigned Mac app.

Version 1.0
~~~~~~~~~~~
- first public release
Apple has pushed a 6.1.1 update exclusively for the iPhone 4S. planetbeing has confirmed that all of evasi0n's exploits still work, and an update will be released for it.
EDIT: evasion has been updated to version 1.3 and now recognizes and jailbreaks iPhone 4Ss on iOS 6.1.1. There are no other changes.
Apple has publically released iOS 6.1.2. evasi0n's exploits still appear to work (currently confirmed only on the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini) and a new version that jailbreaks 6.1.2 will be pushed in short time.
An iOS 6.1.2-compatible version of evasi0n has been released! I'll update the guide and FileTrip accordingly in the next hour or so.
————————————————————
2/23 UPDATE: evasi0n was updated to 1.5. This improves the boot time for jailbroken devices, and updates the included Cydia package list. If you're already jailbroken with evasi0n, just update the untether package inside of Cydia.
If anyone cares about betas, Apple pushed the inexplicably named iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 (successor to iOS 6.1.1 Beta 1) to devs last week. It fixes an issue that allows anyone to get passed a passcode-locked lockscreen without the passcode by going through a few convoluted steps.
EDIT: And it's now confirmed to close at least one of the exploits evasi0n uses. DON'T UPDATE
Jailbreaking an iPhone is not illegal in the US. It won't affect your contract with Verizon, unless you do stuff on Verizon's network that they won't like (e.g. tethering). (Verizon never complained about my use of TetherMe on an unlimited data plan, though I usually never exceed 2 GB/month. Your mileage may vary!)
Jailbreaking will void your warranty, however, but traces of a jailbreak can be eliminated with a restore.
If I recall correctly, only jailbreaking phones is explicitly legal in the US as of today. As far as iPads and iPods go (and consoles, as well), there is no law one way or the other. It's not explicitly legal, nor is it illegal. It's up in the air. (Not really an issue for you though, just figured I'd throw it out there) Still, no one will come for you for jailbreaking anything you own. It jut doesn't happen. The only people who get the brunt of legal force are the actual hackers, not the users.
Verizon has never said anything about my 4S being jailbroken. They've never even said anything about TetherMe, granted I am on a 2 GB/month data plan.
Is it possible to recover my iPhone 4S/5 with iOS 6.1.2 to 6.1.2 (SHSH available of course!) or can't I use my SHSH for those devices.
I do NOT want to downgrade, just recover to the SAME iOS I am currently on.
Thanks for making that clear for me!
I guess I've got nothing to lose trying this out, except my warranty that is.
So, my iPhone is on iOS 6.1.2, how can I start with this?
There are no public exploits that will allow an iPhone 4S or 5 to be restored to 6.1.2 when the signing window was closed. Re-restoring was patched in iOS 6.0. It only works for the iPhone 4 and earlier because they are vulnerable to the limera1n exploit.
You'll be able to restore an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 to 6.1.2 as long as Apple's signing them. (Once 6.1.3 is released, Apple will cut off SHSHs for 6.1.2 as well.)
Unfortunately, saved SHSHs don't work because, as Izen said, Apple fixed the loophole used with 5.1.1 and lower. They may be useful in the future however, which is why it's still recommended to save them!
Thanks for making that clear for me!
evasi0n is the way to go for jailbreaking 6.x. The process is pretty easy and straightforward. (You need to temporarily disable encrypted backups if you encrypt them.)
Cool, I'm going to try it out now. But I have one more question, I bought 2 Iphones with a 2-year contract, one for me and the other for my sister. If I jailbreak my iPhone and void the warranty, will it affect her?
Each device has its own warranty. If you jailbreak your iPhone, your sister's warranty will still be intact. (Likewise, all iPhone 4S units' warranties don't expire on the same date.)
evasi0n is an untethered jailbreak. You do need a computer and USB cable for evasi0n (and most jailbreaks), but you don't need to connect it to a computer every time you reboot your phone.
