Now that you mention it.... not so subliminal anymore lol

EDIT: When using redsn0w, I seem to get stuck at the uploading ramdisk stage. Anyone know how to fix it?

If we're on the same wavelength about the "subliminal messages..." It's meant to get people that lazily try to copy and paste the guide.

metamaster, try running redsn0w.exe in Compatibility Mode (for Windows XP SP2). You should be able to reboot your iPod safely and try again.

I tried it on two computers. One in compatibility mode, where redsn0w crashes at uploading ramdisk and on another without compatibility, where it just froze. I got pissed off and got a hold of a mac.
Problem solved

By the way, to reboot it I just held down the power button for a few seconds.

I'm sorry to say I don't have a slightest clue to your issue, Joktan.

Perhaps it's a bad installation of Cydia..?

The guide's redsn0w section was consolidated to conserve space. If you could, please provide feedback on its layout!

(I can revert it to the old format if the new one doesn't work out.)

I waited like 5 minutes and everything was frozen..I have to reboot to get cydia working again..
So yes as soon as I go there it freezes.
I've experienced that too. snowbreeze. it always either freezes on black screen or the cydia itself. it also crashes.

fixed it with a restore.

Feedback? Well... All the steps are there lol. I don't actually have anything to complain about it. But I was wondering why you keep the other versions of redsn0w there.

I was wondering, with the release of this whole "jailbreak for life" piece that was said to have occured with greenpois0n - do we still have to wait for a jailbreak for the latest firmware or can we just jailbreak straight when the latest comes out?

Well....It will be tethered. It's only un-tethered thanks for comex's one of many kernel hacks.

So, we will have to wait and see

Well....If we don't find another exploit to use with geohot's bootrom exploit, it will be tethered.

So, no matter what we can do that.

Let's say comex finds another userland exploit or any exploit rather. Than it will go un-tethered.

It would be untethered for life if the bootrom exploit was untethered. But since the bootrom exploit in both limera1n and greenpois0n is tethered, you need another exploit to untether it. The one that untethers greenpois0n and limera1n is a userland exploit (probably) so when a new firmware comes out, the userland exploit will get overwritten and will leave behind the tethered bootrom exploit (which can't be overwritten)

EDIT: Is there any way to jailbreak the Phone 3g on 4.1 without using an ispw? (greenpois0n style)
