Homebrew Complete Idiot Needs Help With CTRQuake Mods

So I've managed to get Team Fortress running via ctrQuake. However, every time I attempt to connect to a TF server, I receive the error message "Unable to make socket broadcast capable" and get disconnected. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can join a server?
(Apologies again for my noob-ery)
