Aren't there multiple companies using the R4 name, kind of like Ray's Pizza? The R4 name has a long history, and I'm sure cart makers are simply using the name to add credibility to their particular business, but I rather trust a company that makes their own history than simply borrow it. But then again, without all these R4 companies, Nintendo would focus their attack on the innovation "smaller" companies.

You are correct. The original R4 team died several years ago, and back then, their cartridge was actually a great piece of hardware. Nowadays, there's a billion different clones hopping on the name train, making it hard to make a decision.

This is a company known for doing their own DS cards and updates with good support, and one of the latest compatible on 3DS in DS mode. They just use "R4" name like many others.

For 3DS, they have a different hardware (different chipset version) than Gateway, but are using the same file/firmware.

I'm pretty sure it's fake, they just copied the GW beta firmware and everyone knows it; so you have GW mode to play games or classic game to enter the e-shop. Lame

I don't think it's fake. They managed to decrypt the gateway launcher and adapt it to their hardware.
Adding support for a newer emuNAND version is currently trivial. (Source: smea)
But this may change in future system updates.

AFAIK, EmuNAND updating wont take much at all, like smea said, the issues with the latest EmuNAND is probably more than likely to do with the on the fly patching, since the launcher is set to 6.3, the offsets etc for the patches will differ, which probably is what has broken system settings, Online, Region Free

And people waiting for the 3.1 Firmware will probably be waiting till after GW releases, prob a couple of days as they need to change a few strings, a bit suspect that all their features are identical to what GW are gonna release, along with their announcments are vague and always come after a GW one.. I will eat my words only when a "Clone Team" are the first out the Door with an update (A grainy video made with your mums cellphone doesnt count)

R4i will just copy GW's again, people should stop being naive about this. Even if their video is not fake, for me it's really obvious that they still wouldn't know how to fix the saving issues, so they will wait until Gateway release their second beta to adapt the launcher for their clones.

Hi, a small Question.

When I click on the Profile with 2.0 without L I should start Gateway Mode (EmuNand) but I only see "lines" and nothing happen and I need to reboot =/

(Randomly happen)

Any Idea?

lol, It's not like they have released theirs yet. This is the same case when R4i released their emuNAND video; everyone went bananas just because Gateway haven't had released their emuNAND launcher at that point.

The video is so promising though, and then the hardware itself. It also works exactly how I thought multirom would work, you change your game from the crash menu. All the cards released currently couldn't compete with this thing, as long as they keep the price fair. If this thing ends up costing as much as the Gateway, I think Gateway will have to do something about their prices...
