Homebrew Commercial ROM Loading with MoonShell 2 & YSMenu Guide

I too can confirm that it does work on AK2i - same error - in fact I cannot even get Moonshell to run AT ALL even if I boot up into the official firmware THEN start Moonshell
(Incidentally I'm using Moonshell 2 Stable 2)

No - the AK2i isn't my main card (I use a DSTTi) - I just wanted to say that I've tried as well & it seems as though W3r3W0lF wasn't doing anything wrong according to the instructions

Okay, so heres the thing, i got the moonshell to work w/ the YSMenu and everything, but some of the games dont work
Ex- GTA Chinatown Wars and Ragnarok DS(English Translated) Any ideas?(and the GTA is already patched)

It seems that the instructions are either wrong for the AK2i or perhaps due to some weird reason the moonshell & YSmenu combo doesn't work with AK2i - so far 3 people have tried (myself included) & no-one has managed it.

It may be (& this is only a guess) that the DLDI used to patch moonshell & YSmenu is not compatible for the AK2i (I've used 'Acekard 2', 'Acekard+' and 'Acekard RPG', I havn't even SEEN an 'AK2i' DLDI - what have you tried ?)

It is also possible that since the AK2i is modified to work on a DSi - maybe there's some hardware/firmware modification that's been done that won't allow moonshell to boot.

No.I've tried it according to Vampirex's guide.
After send my message , I was trying to do it.
I was boot moonshell2 when the run acekard2i on the DSi.
It was worked but It wasn't loading ROMs and can't back to normal AKAIO firmware.
Also Nomatt's AKAIO isn't working.

Errm,I want use moonshell2 because DSi's Sound Center doesn't support Sleep Mode.

I have an AK2i myself, and as odd as it seems, a DLDI file called ak2_sd.dldi keeps popping up when I have used the card. It doesn't seem to come with the 4.17 download. I thought maybe THAT was the one for the AK2i.

Oh well.

I tried that, and it didn't work either.

Everthing works on my AK2, the guide was great. But I still have got 2 questions:

1. How can I enable soft-reset and what is the hotkey?
2. How can I make GBA ExpLoader save my progress?

Hello guys, I'm just getting used to the NDS Scene, and I've tried this but I have a problem and is that I have a DSTT and there's no DLDI file :S

This is a bit confusing to me, because english is not my main language and I want to use this due that there's no Sakura for DSTT

Unbelievable. It's included in Moonshell 2. Just go to misctools, then AutoDLDIPatch, then ttio.dldi.

Guys, to add the soft-reset function while you play a game, go to the ysmenu folder on your card, open YSMENU.ini and add the following line:

DEFAULT_RESET=true

voila!

I tested it on my DSTT card, I don't know if it will work on other cards.

Everthing works on my AK2, the guide was great.Ah-ha - seems like the instructions work for AK2 cards but not AK2i cards, so perhaps then I was right - the instructions are NOT suitable for AK2i owners

Now the problem is - How do we do it for AK2i / Is it even possible ??

Wow. This works really well for R4.

Two questions.
- When a game boots, is it doing all of the patching YSmenu usually does when booting a game? It doesn't display whether it is patching or not, so yeah.

- For cheats, I know that you hold B in order to go to the YSmenu interface to select cheats, however, while doing so, the bottom screen says, "HELP_CHEAT". Is there a text file I need so that it says the usual "Press B to cancel" and "Press start to save"? Also, is there no button to de-select all the cheats you previously selected in YSmenu?

The Bad news: I can only get it to work with Moonshell Beta 5 & older versions

That maybe so - but I've managed it with an older version of Moonshell2, with a bit (actually a lot) of trial & error - see my previous post

P.S. To All - although I've tried it with Commercial ROMS - I haven't tried it for music/videos etc (yet) but can't really see that being a problem.
Once I've tried I'll pass the info on

UPDATE: I've (sort of) cracked it with AK2i and the latest version of Moonshell 2.02 Stable
It seems that you need to use an older Acekard firmware - see next post

I can also confirm that moonshell does still play Music and Videos as well
