Gaming COD MW3 update

I`m running 4.2, I get a message when I try multiplayer, something about "an update is available" and I have to visit the "Shop Channel". I also have a 4.3 and it just did the update no problem without this message. I tried google and it said something about I need a Shop Channel account to get the update?

You definitely need to have the newest shop channel installed. Not sure if you need to have an account or not (probably do need an account). You can get the newest shop wad from modmii.

is the updates to play multi player and spec ops ok to do through the game when it asks you before u can start playing ? my shop channel is fully updated aswell .
