also - kind of ironic given the topic, but how would one go about virginizing their MIOS - like, unpatching it and stuff? I don't really like WiiGator's GCN loading screen every time I start up a retail GCN game.

Pack the newest official Nintendo MIOS into a wad using NUS Downloader and install it with Wadmanager.

I don't think I ever installed a cMIOS. Do I have the latest official one then? (From regular updates, with modded installer) I have a Wiikey v1, and all GC games run perfect so far.

That list is test results with WiiGator's GC backup Launcher, not Waninkoko's cMIOS.
I tested with cMIOS rev5 (MIOS v4 as base).

1. I didn't compare them to anything though. I just reported the tests as I did them.
2. All the GC games I have. Can't remember them all off by heart. You'll have to read this entire thread to find them.
3. Still bugged...

Then there is mIOS-installer rev5 from Wanninkoko.
What base shall I choose?

I wanna play Doshin the giant for NGC.
It does not work on my chipped wii using the wiinja GCOS boot disc.
Most games works using the wiinja boot disc.




I dont wanna disable anything useful to play the game.
My wii is fully hard and soft modded with trucha, priiloader & usbloader on 4.2e

Does this happen in all new cMIOS packs, or just the one from cIOSCORP?

I've no cmios installed but i want try it and i want to know a thing (it may be a stupid question but..):

if i install cmios then i'll be able to play my original game normally or they work only like in the compatibility list?

if something doesn't work or i dislike it to turn back i can simply restore my backup of the nand right?

All official games will work normally. If you want to get rid of cMIOS, just get a wad of the latest MIOS from NUS Downloader and install it.

I can't get Starfox Adventures and Eternal Darkness(retail discs!) to work with a cMIOS. On my loader and when using Waninkoko's cMIOS, i get a read error directly on startup. Funny thing is that Eternal Darkness backup works(with issues...).

Last time I used cMIOS was on my brothers wii about a year and a half ago or something..

At the time, I heard cMIOS v3 was the best to use.
Is version 5 better? And what base should be used?
