On July 1st Nintendo is implementing large coin drops for completed surveys on many of its products. For instance the DSi drops from 160 to 100 and eShop games from 10 to 5 coins. For a complete list of the changes, check out the source link from Nintendo.

...Club Nintendo coins had value? LOL.

Meh, the only time I ever got coins was when I bought a new system and...that was about it.

Since we're getting less points than before for doing the same thing, wouldn't that mean the value is increasing?

    I wouldn't count on it.

It seems like Nintendo is bracing for some sort of financial winter with these cost-cutting moves. (if they're already not in one)

No, Nintendo, this is not what "making it rain" means at all.

I think the real question is what impact will this have on the already struggling Euro?

If the number of coins being given out is decreasing then the value of the coins is going up... that's not exactly hard to understand. Unless you mean the value of unregistered products, in which case their value is decreasing (though only if the rewards stay the same price).

The title makes it seem like the values of coins themselves will be dropping, i.e. that Club Nintendo items will cost more coins now.

When lesser coins are distributed or even used - it means the value of the coins have gone up.

Haha, I never redeemed Star Fox 64 3D, OoT3D, MK7, or Pokemon Rumble Blast.
    I'm glad I waited, they're going up.

Why are you glad? They're still going to be worth less come July 1st.
