Homebrew Clarification Thread - What is going on?

It's not a special file type. It's a zip with metadata to make them "safer" by verifying the integrity and version of the firmware. You're blowing it up to more than it is. It's somewhat novel but I could do that, manually even, in my sleep. @JustPingo still has yet to finish KTM. Hopefully it gets there when memchunkhax2 is stabilized.

It is a TTP file, if I am not mistaken. If JustPingo has left the tool to install CIA updates, all the N00bs in the world would rejoice because they would think it is a CIA installer that lets them play their pir... I mean backups. JustPingo avoided this by changing the file type so CIAs are not recognized by KTM, so he made it Noob Safe. He also made the converter file. It may not be big, but he actually did stuff that helps the GBATemp community. I may be making it seem bigger than it is, but it is more than what that n00b troll will ever do.

Yes, it was the first firmware steveice tested on and it should work, hence the "deadcafe". This same code returns three zeros when using libkhax (memchunkhax1).

This. What's the point you ask? well now we can add in information, hashes to check that every single file is legit, that the console type that you have is possible to be downgraded to the version you want, and that the region matches your consoles region. This makes it super easy and safe for not just noobs but everyone honestly, it's actually something we've needed for awhile and someone finally got around to it

BTW, sorry if I'm asking to wrong person, but did you check KTM code already?
Don't NATIVE_FIRM should be installed before any other update cia, as sysupdater does?
I have no knowledge about this yet, just don't know if there are dependencies.

The error message is "service access denied"

Getting kernel access does not automatically mean service access. You can get access to all services by patching the current PID to 0, calling srvExit(), calling srvInit(), and restoring the old PID value.

I've been working on adding memchunkhax2 to libkhax, but so far, the stability has somehow seemed much worse.
