If this gets released, will it require formatting to downgrade? (Currently in a Red US N3DSXL with 10.1)

From what i know, that also remains untouched. i could be wrong though. my prediction is that the Data portion of the 3ds will remain untouched, Ex. badges, saves, etc.
But the firmware partition will be downgraded.
And is there a chance of a brick by doing this?

From what i know, its very slim. i know @JustPingo is developing KTM, which is a safer way then sysUpdater to downgrade. You have to run the exploit first to get the permissions though.

alls i know if im going to wait at least half a day afterr the downgrade comes out so it can be beta tested. Anyone remember the ps3 fw that bricked about 100 consoles?
I can relate to the wait. either i wait, or i use it instantly, depending on how inpatient i am.

What's a brick exactly? Never bother to check CFW but now I'm interested.

its when yourr system becomes useless because somehting got fucked up, rendering it about as usefull as a... brick.

Now I need clarification, what is the supported ntrcardhax versions? Also, what special requirement is needed?

Also, if we downgrade, theoretically speaking, what and how is it changed?
Is it like replacing the .cia of every title or how?
Basically each and every title on the NAND in uninstalled and an old version of it (for example the versions from 9.2) is then installed... We must uninstall the old version as the currently installed version is always checked and if the version you're trying to install is less than the currently installed version it won't install the title, whereas if it has nothing to check against then it just installs it

Ntrcardhax is supported up to 10.3, but you need some special hardware. The gateway is probably the only device (currently) able to take advantage of it, other than a homemade device (like the passme with an FPGA soldered to it (FPGA = Field programmable gate array))

Please do not flame or hate on what I am about to ask. Since snshax is no longer being developed, would it be ok if I updated to 10.3 or no?

Up to you... Honestly unless you absolutely NEED something from eShop then I'd say just stay, you'll have lots of things available to you suddenly very soon
