When you have hundreds of new users suddenly using a downgrader to write actual things on their sysNAND, sysUpdater (even if it's a great piece of software don't take me wrong), won't be enough to contain the stupidness.
I guess KTM's only advantage is being packed into one file, which would be easier i guess *shrug*

Well, they could release memchunkhax2 only but it would have no use, and JustPingo can't release his app without a working memchunkhax2.

Technically you can bound memchunkhax2 to anything.
I will probably finish KTM before they finish mch2, so that's why I say it'll come out of the box.

Curious, Are we talking days or weeks? =P on a quick estimation scale

Of course, but without apps that make use of the privilege elevation it wouldn't be useful.

So is it really necessary to make a NAND backup before the downgrade? Cause the only way I can do it is to hard mod the console.

No it does other checksums, region checks, model checks, whitelisting, warnings...
Oh, I guess that's pretty nice then... will the hashes be hardcoded or will we be able to put any legit CIA into the pack and downgrade with it? Also have you checked out ZIP3DSFX by @d0k3? that would be the ideal way to distribute it IMO (you can find it here)

The hash comes with the pack. You will be able to create your own packs with a bit of effort. That prevents real noobs to choose the wrong CIAs.
Oh and I was looking for a 3DS unzipper implementation. I will take inspiration, thanks!
