Hacking Cioscorp V2

I personaly have had no unexpected issues with CIOSCORP V2 HackMII installer works fine. and when everyone had issues with the newest games had no real (unexpected) issues.... just turn on the 002 fix and they run... No problems with it at all and been using it for months!

cioscorp + turn on 002 fix == you have no idea what you are doing. At least it looks that way.

Would it be possible to update the version of Cioscorp - Like so it uses dips from CiosRev13 as i think cioscorpV2 uses rev8, so it is a bit behind.

Cioscorp is class,i've been using it since it come out V1 and V2, not one problem at all, just get the odd one game which will not load so use NeorameR6.
not sure why people rip cIOSCorp as if installed correctly its perfect (ultimate MOD)

It's possible, that's why there's a v2 to begin with. All that's different is that newer custom IOS stuff is patched in, and maybe it's based on newer IOS versions that have performance improvements.

The problem that can cause however is that one, it's risky for many people that don't know what it's doing, especially ones that try to uninstall it by uninstall the wads. And two, the hackmii installer is known to have problems with cioscorp IOS's, as they've been modified and the installer isn't sure what to do with them.

I'm making a new cIOSCORP based on rev13b and it is working well on my machine (4.0E, non-LU64), but a few games end up with #001 error with this. They load fine with gecko OS though. I haven't finished yet, as the base wads I used are from a 3.4 update, so they're not the latest, so I'll have to update that, and then there's the problem with distributing these wads. This cIOSCORP has received very little testing due to the distribution problem, although _THEORETICALLY_ as they will based on the latest versions of IOS they _SHOULD_ be LU64 compatible when released.

That sounds cool. Do you think maybe you could tell us how you make your cioscorp? I think if someone that knew how to make it gave instructions on how to do it out, we would avoid all the problems associated with distributing it.

I'm taking one of the .app files rom Waninkoko's cIOS249 rev13b and placing it into all of the other IOS, although if there was a guide on "how to make your own cIOSCORP" available to everybody, we'll end up getting a flood of noobs whinging "Ahhh! ur guide brokded my wii! Ahhh!"

Although, on the other hand, I'm no real coder, so I can't just write up an online installer (I don't really know how patchmii works). Maybe if somebody got their hands on the source code for Waninkoko's cIOS installers (but he didn't release it), that could be used to make an installer.

But, wait.
How did miiwii (it has cIOSCORPv2, and other copyrighted wads) get on GBAtemp without being taken down?

All I say is you better have some backup protection before installing that.
god ur all pussys when it comes to cIOSCORP, i dont see why you're all so against it, i love it.
its crap, it's dangerous, it's this, it's that. jeez

if ur gonna install it, if you have preloader 0.29 installed and then install the cIOS60BF.wad from cIOSCORP then you'll end up with the system files are corruupt. but to fix it, just install preloader again and it'll be fixed.

i for one have NEVER had an issue with a single backup using cIOSCORP, except tales of symphonia which i believe is just a bad burn.

and again, i realise these things may have been mentioned already, but i'm not readin all the pages lol

Why the hell rev13b? If you don't understand why b is totally wrong for cioscorp, you should not do that.

The 001 error could be the same issue as with cioscorp v2. I hope Waninkoko eventually finds a working 001 fix.

sounds good to me, but dont like the choice of cIOS...

hmm, wonder why i've never recieved a #001 error with my cIOSCORP v2... everyone keeps saying theres compatibility issues, but i've never had one really like i mentioned above.

Well, because NOBODY reported 001 with cioscorp v1. Did you try to install the correct cIOS from v1 for Tales of Symphonia? It could be too that v2 is messing that up.

I see. I'd just have to know which .apps to get started. (Although extracting all of it first would be a good idea. It not working with WAD Creator really complicates the matter to the point where I gave up on it for a while.)

But I can see your point regarding the mess it could create. Although I think clear instructions would help, that way we might prevent some people from bricking LU64+'s by installing old cioscorps ones. (If they made their own, then the brickage odds would be less if they used new IOS's as the base.)

Isn't the 001 error caused by copy protection? If so I think the better way to do it would be to just use your NeoGamma for games that are troublesome with that.

After all, I have a NeoGamma channel on the wii. The only reason I have cIOScorp is so that I don't have to patch the few games that are IOS Reloading games.

I mean I'm not opposed to cIOS enabling fixes for copy protection itself, but I can see it turning into an annoying cat and mouse game with Nintendo while they come up with additional copy protection checks. (Like maybe Error 003 or 004? in the future.) It just seems to me that the loader should be the one that takes care of that, while the cIOS should focus on additional functionality.

Just my two cents.

i never got a 001 error with tales of syphonia, it just blackscreens before the wrist strap screen is all.

honestly i think it's just bad burns.

and sorry, but what do you mean by the correct cIOS? i didnt understand what you meant by that yesterday either actually.

Yes it is. The cIOS is supposed to get rid of it, but it's not working 100%.

Tales of Symphona requests IOSx, install cIOSx wad from cioscorp v1. I really really can't say it more easy. Also 001 related errors don't all have to show 001 error. Why are you so stubborn and don't trust me enough to just try what i say even if you think for whatever reason that it has no chance to work? Am i that often wrong?

more often than not you're right so i'm not gonna argue with you to get flamed by everyone XD

anyways, i understand what you're saying, it's just that i dont get IOSx, what number IS x exactly, because overwritten all IOS with the cIOS from cIOSCORP, so there shouldnt be an issue there right?

or do you mean ALL of the cIOS from cIOSCORP v1?

coz i'll give it a try and tell you how i get on if thats what you mean

I think what he means is whatever IOS number the game uses normally, since every game loads some IOS or another.

You serioulsy don't understand "Tales of Symphona requests IOSx, install cIOSx wad from cioscorp v1"?

How old are you? Did/do you have maths in school?

thank you, thats what i needed to know.

whats maths got to do with the letter x, IOS or cIOS?? stop crying about it! it's 1:30, i'm tired.

i'm 17, and yeah i do maths in college, but i'm crap at it. lol

OK!
I've done it! I've finished my cIOSCORP! It also comes with a cMIOS! All IOSes have trucha bug back in them and IOS36 and IOS60 also have the ES_Identify patch. Installed on my wii (non-LU64) and tested with system menu 3.2E and 4.0E. Works fine, except for a few #001 error games, but only some are affected.
Example:
Super Mario Galaxy - #001 error
Mario Kart Wii - works fine
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - works fine (even masterpieces)
MadWorld - works fine
Sonic and the Black Knight - #001 error

I have not tested this with 3.4 but it should work. It should also theoretically work on LU64+ wiis. I'm going to upload it to one of those file upload sites, but I'm not sure how to legally tell you guys where. Anyways it might take a while as my internet is slow.
