I don't even see a reason to upgrade unless there's a really good new feature and it's stable. I won't count on it, but I do hope by rev 20 we'll have stability and nice features.

Did you notice that wanin's twetter sais ,,1 week minimum''. that does not mean in will be released in about 1 week. it's between 1 week and the end of his life.
The key word here is MINIMUM

"Almost everything has changed" he says. I'm hoping for a surprise such as GC USB Loading figured out and thrown into action.
Err, this is about cIOS, not cMIOS.

Yeah yeah whatever, I just hope it can be done without special hardware like Wode. I buy games so I'm not one of the ungrateful pirates here lmao.
Lasers shot and USB Loading is hella convenient

THat's because wode emulates the disk drive, making the console think that's what's being used....GC usb is never happening on softmod. Why can't people just get that through their heads???

seriously good observation, hopefully people aren't mislead and expect a release within 1 week for sure... otherwise people may start becoming ungrateful animals again... lets hope this is not the case...

i think since rev17 is working well, most people probably won't be too impatient for rev18 to be released (or at least I hope)

@wanin, if you're reading, take your time, and thank you

Isn't it a bit too early though? I mean if it was going to be the BIGGEST update, you'd think it would take more than a month, otherwise it would just be like any other rev imo. It took a 2 months for the WHOLE psp hacking team to come up with a breakthrough (playing on 6.20 FW for reportedly ALL psp's) and it's only taking ONE person ONE month for a new rev that will be a HUGE update? I sense failure and bugs =/

That's kinda short-sighted of you. Maybe the "big one" is something he's been working on for a while, and was just kind enough to release versions in the meantime.

in every dev job...new developments, may lead to new bugs.

Its an every quote day in a dev job.
Don't expect perfection....but thank the man for the job he's been doing.

Right on. You know, it's funny. You charge big bucks for a product (i.e. Apple computers) and everyone's totally gay for it. You give them something for free, and the bitching begins.

I, for one, wanna say thanks for the hard work, Waninkoko!

About rev18... Some changes were "done" 1 week ago. Now I'm working on more changes that "might be" done in ~1 week (I don't expect that).

Anytime he sets a date for something it never happens and everyone cries about it nonstop.

He should just post it when its done and surprise everyone or update and say "coming soon".

Everyone wants to ride his nuts when something new comes out but when they have to wait for something past a "scheduled" release date they drop off his balls with the quickness and start crying about it not being out yet.

More Changes It must be something really good. "~1 week" is this -1 week?

That would be like expecting a future cIOS update to enable Blu-Ray support when we all know that the drive is physically incapable of doing so. Likewise, a D3-2 drive is physically incapable of reading DVDs.

There wasn't much "wrong" with rev10 either. I guess we should have stuck with it forever. =/ Screw progress.

*plays along*

That would be totally awesome!

Maybe add support for NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges too!
We'll just cram them in the SD slot!

...lol.

Rev17 has a minor DL issue. It didn't seem to affect gaming, but it produced bad dumps for DL games.

And I think wanin is also adding fat support for USB loaders.

Not sure of any other features though.

"Bad dumps" sounds so harsh. Let's call them incomplete dumps. :)
