Hacking cios rev 14?

I want to know whether i van update from cios rev 9 to cios rev 14 without loosing my preloader(0.29) or the ability to play any other wii game i was able to play before

updating your cIOS is safe

This will definitely work, you are only overwriting an IOS, which none of your Wii games use. Nothing in the firmware is changed also.

Uuum I just updated to cios rev 14 but now my USB loader(the new one 1.5, and the old one 1.1) doesn't recognise my WBFS patrition anymore, or they do some sort of timeout?
Did I do something wrong?

Switch the port. Your usb drive needs to be plugged into the port that is closer to the edge of the system.
