So I downloaded several CIA games today, one of them being Minecraft. It installed fine, showed up on the home menu fine, but crashes my system immediately upon launch. Any clue what could be wrong? All the other games I downloaded work without issue

Are you using a old or new console for minecraft? The game already runs like shit on any console. Would probably wreck the old consoles.

Note that recent games require a 'Seed' (it is a sort of token that updates the title database) before being able to run (they either get stuck in the title screen or cause an exception error which forces a restart.) Luckily, FBI can easily fetch these 'Seeds'.
'Seeds' are the one thing that prevents offline-only installation of games.

Enable the Internet connection, and within FBI navigate to Titles » [game] » Import Seed.

Hey everyone, I'm just getting back into the 3ds scene. Modded it a while ago with b9s and just learned today about freeshop, etc. So do all the new games require a seed? I've seen other sites that say you should download the seed separately on pc and put it on the SD card in the fbi/seed folder and import that way.

Will downloading the seed through fbi directly put me in danger of a ban?

Thanks!

Games released starting from firmware version 9.6.0 and newer require a seed. Check this comprehensive list for titles known to need one (may not be completely up-to-date as new games get released):

Importing Seed with FBI is safe.

However, if you prefer other methods:

just ran into this same issue w/ minecraft crashing & throwing an error on launch. I tired the import seed move in FBI but that also gives me an error saying it failed to import seed.

is this because I changed my region & can no longer use the eshop?

thanks
