Homebrew cia conversion.

Hi,

I'm really out of touch with the 3ds scene so sorry if this has been answered already. Is it possible to convert cia files on an n3dsxl using a cia conversion tool?. I have the ds profile set up on the n3dsxl but when I go to click on it just resets. Is it still not possible unless you use your old 4.5.0 o3ds. Thanks

Convert cia into what? If you mean convert 3ds files into CIA, it's relatively easy and instructions can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/40etaz/tutorial_dumping_3ds_carts_and_converting_3ds/

In future you need to be a heck of a lot more precise in what you are asking help for as your post is not very clear what you actually want to do.

I will explain a bit more I want to change a rom into .cia format but you used to have to have a 3ds on 4.5.0 - 5.1.0 firmware to run the files on your sd card to get the xorpads for cia conversion. I was wandering if you can now do it on an N3DSXL on 9.2x. I have my N3DSXL converted to use the DS Profile in system settings cause I use a Gateway card but when I click on it to activate the new launcher on my micro sd card, it just resets back to the main menu? thats where I am stuck.

You can use decrypt9 on 9.2 to generate xorpads.

I have no idea how gateway works. That being said, it's not difficult at all to use Decrypt9WIP.

As for converting .3ds files to .cia, I suggest Simple CIA Converter, I can't be bothered to google this one, so do it yourself.

With simple cia converter it quite literally takes about a minute from start to finish to convert 3ds to cia it could not be any easier if it tried.
