If you've been dissatisfied with the current state of Square Enix's Chrono Trigger PC port, it might be worth noting that the company plans to put out a few patches for the game in the next few months. Starting in April, the game will receive a patch that allows players to use the original SNES graphics, as opposed to the "remastered" option. Following that will be other additions and changes, which will be announced at a later date. Chrono Trigger is currently available on Steam for $14.99.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all of your feedback, patience and support so far.
We have been working on addressing the issues that you’ve raised, and will be releasing a number of patches over the coming months as we continue to support Chrono Trigger on Steam.

We’re aiming to release the first of these patches in the first half of April, and the biggest change is that it will include an option to switch between the current high-resolution graphics, and the original graphical style of Chrono Trigger.

We’ll post a full list of changes here when the first patch is released. For now, be assured that we’re working very hard on adjusting, updating and supporting Chrono Trigger on Steam.

As Chrono Trigger is going to receive patches over the coming months, we are going to extend the availability of the Limited Edition until:
5PM, April 30th BST / 9AM, April 30th PDT

Thanks again from all of us on the Chrono Trigger team.

Yup, still talking about the PC version. Your comment was completely misplaced.
Nope.

Bortz said everyone who buys games in Nintendo's VC. But Nintendo VC snes games are not $15. Not misplaced at all.
I got Chrono Trigger off of VC and I payed $8.

Same here, 8 dollars for a good version is better than paying 15 dollars for a garbage rush job.

Its a shame its closing next year. And you can't add points anymore. And they didn't release on the Wii U VC service.
So no way of getting the good version. I prefer the SNES over the DS because the music sounds better on that version.

So no way of getting the good version for cheap. I prefer the SNES over the DS because the music sound better on that version.

No, they didn't release it on Wii U (no thanks to SE), good thing I bought it when I did, and because of that, I justified getting the ROM and loading it on my Super NT *cough* flashcart too *cough*.
I'll wait and see how this *ahem* patch fares.

Why are they charging $15 when the SNES VC version came out before it and was $8?
I can understand if they enhance stuff but they didn't. They barely enhanced anything.

I'm assuming the IOS graphical features to make it playable on smart phones took some work so they are charging extra for it.
But if its returning to original snes graphics does the $15 justify the price anymore?

Because Square Enix, need I say more? I feel bad for the poor sods who spent money on that port.
