Hacking Chrono Trigger/DQ V Cheats

Has anyone been able to activate the cheats for Chrono Trigger or Dragon Quest V? I have tried them for both CT Versions 2949 and 3055 but the cheat screen does not appear when I start the game. I have the enable cheat box checked. I also have the same issue with DQ V.

Try putting the cheats in the same folder the games are or simply update ur ndsinfo.dat i believe.

put the cheat files in the same folder as the games with the same filename, except the extension. if you like to put them in the cheat folder, you must get an updated ndsinfo.dat

OK, Thanks. I got it to work, but now the codes don't work when I turn them on. They actually cause the game to freeze. Any help on this?
