Is the Homebrew menu a separate install?

I currently use SX OS to boot, then choose game from gallery.
homebrew access is built directly into sxos, if you have the files on your sdcard to run homebrew through hekate, the same filesystem is used launching homebrew for sxos. You just need to hold R while clicking the album icon to load it instead of the SXOS game library, hold L to load the album (this is basically the only thing I like about SXOS over hekate, being able to still load the album)

I do not have hekate or the homebrew files on my SD Card. Only the files needed for SX OS, and the XCI files.

just drag and drop to your sd card

Sorry for my noobness - but I would
  1. Download Hekate
  2. Download the latest release and extract it to the root of your Switch SD card
  3. Start hekate through e.g. Fusée Gelée, TegraRcmSmash or WebCFWLoader --- this is where you were saying I would boot CFW with SX OS as normal, but hold R, is that right?
  4. ???
  5. Profit!

With 1.4, you don't have to hold R when opening it, you can just press R once in the "album" to move from games to updates/dlc to homebrew

No, put the files on your sdcard from the SDFilesV5.zip, load sxos like normal and hold R while pressing the album icon

I do not see Checkpoint in the files that extracted from that zip?

Can you download the updates/DLC as well? Or only straight game dumps?
