Hacking Cheats not working TwilightMenu++

I am using the usrcheats.dat file from DeadSkullzJr's cheats database on the TwilightMenu++ inside the folder sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/extras
Everything is fine until I apply the cheat and launch game. The cheats do not work in the game

My setup is: DS Lite and R4 Revolution flashcard

As nds-bootstrap isn't stable with certain flashcards, the cheats not working may also be a sign.

Did you update Twilight++ I had the same problem and I did not update. After you do the codes will work

I have the same issue.

Setup:
Hardware: DS Lite
FlashCard: R4 SDHC Dual-Core
TWiLight Menu++: v27.12.4
nds-bootstrap: Release v2.4.0

I've found this thread too on GitHub that I'm not allowed to link because I'm. a new user.....
Any ways it said that certain versions of twilight menu had cheats working...

So I downloaded version v25.6. The thread claimed that this did work. However, this didn't work either.
So it's a hardware problem? In that case which flash card can I buy knowing it will work?
