EdiZon SE will look at edizon\cheats for a BID.txt file and if found it will load the cheats and move that file into atmosphere directory, it is useful for developer to immediately test the code they wrote. There is no need to restart the game.
EdiZon SE in easy mode will automatically update the cheats if what you have is not the same as what is found on the database.

You may want to try Breeze. It has a cheat disassembler which helps you understand the code. It also has a interactive hand assembler. The current latest edizon se release has the current latest breeze bundled.
I've tried both edizon and breeze and unfortunately I've had trouble with both. I edited my last post to mention that I asked a friend to repeat my process and they got it working right away. The <buildid>.txt file they sent me also worked with my own Switch. So it seems that my issue lies with whatever my text editor is doing. I tried editing in a cheat just now with notepad++, and received this error. Do you know what the issue might be?

Edit: Rebooting my Switch seems to have fixed it.

You need to save your .txt Files as UTF-8 and not as UTF-8 with BOM...

Sorry, I meant to add this in my reply: do cheats work with the DLC?

I figured out how to auto level up in KOTOR by setting the corresponding "Experience Needed" value for each level. Just enable the cheat for your target level and below and you should be able to instantly level up.

Code:

I actually love this one. The one I made was just for experience. It looks like you found the actual individual level up addresses, so this should work out really great. For abilities they are 0x00000004 from each other. The skills are literally right next to each other so if you were to do the first 4 skills to 99 it would be a 0x63636363 and then the next 4 would be 0x00000004 from that address. Everything is close to each other, so finding everything isn't an issue, just finding the pointers is.

So if everyone wants to figure out how to set your abilities to 99 until I can figure out the pointers.
Do a search for the first ability point using a 8 bit search in edizon, go back to kotor and add 1 point to it, go back to edizon and search for the new value, go back and take away that point do a search for the new value, keep doing that until you get down to a few possibilities. Test each one by setting it to 99. Go to noexs and put that address in the memory viewer and look at the addresses close to it and change the next couple to 99(63 in hex). You can do this with abilities as well. Or if you don't want to use noexs, there's the memory view in Edizon as well. Just the easiest way to do it, I am currently looking at another save file right now but its not coming up with anything.

but there is no way to add a point to abilities or skills beside a level up. so what do you propose? Using items that do skill+x? also, do i need to search for base value or for the value with bonus from items? for example if i have computer at 10 and +4 through items, do i need to search for 10 or 14?

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out that they were just 4 apart but then things went much more quickly :P I’ve been trying to find skills— but will follow this approach. I swear once I was able to find a skill memory address and change it but haven’t been able to since.

Yeah the skills are literally right by each other. I don't know if it would be possible to do just 2 codes for it since they are literally just 0x00000001 from each other or not. So I know that the address that ends in 0 will be your skill points themselves and then you go to each one after another. Let me pull my notes. I'm still trying to fix the codes for @habla2k, unfortunately, no luck right now. I'm still working on it though.

Alright, I just tried replacing both

One is in atmosphere/contents/01007EF00011E000/cheats/
The other is in switch/contents/edizon/cheats/titles.zip/titles/01007EF00011E000/cheats

The text file in both is identical, with the name 8E9978D50BDD20B4.txt

I closed the game and reopened, then when to Edizon, which tells me "No cheats available for this game." I then opened Breeze and tried the "Load code from atmosphere" and "Load code from file" commands. Both gave me "cheat loading error."

Just to make sure, I rebooted my Switch just in case that might solve the issue, but I received the same error. I did change my system ini file so that codes wouldn't load automatically, but I'd assume that shouldn't be causing an issue. My version of Edizon is one I downloaded from SDSetup about 3 days ago, and checking for updates in-app says the app is up to date. I don't know that it will resolve the issue, but the only other thing I know to do is try removing edizon entirely and reinstalling it...

Edit: Just tried reinstalling edizon through the HB app store, since it didn't recognize it as being installed for some reason. Closed game and reopened and still have the same issue of "No cheats available for this game." I turned sysmodules for Tesla and Noexes off, and the only one left on is sys-clk. Still no luck. Here's the text file I'm using if you can spot anything wrong with it. The code I'm trying to add is at the very bottom of the list.

Edit again: I asked a friend to try the same process and he got them to show up right away. He sent me the file and it worked for me too. I think the only thing that was different is that he edited the cheats file in notepad++ while I edited them in just notepad... Does notepad do some kind of encoding that Edizon doesn't recognize?

Anything before the { or [ is bad. You file has to start with either { or [ or space or CR or LF

When in doubt look at the file in hex

I use notpad++ too, it wasn't the app's fault, if you create a new file and copy and past the lines over it will work.
PS: I use windows 10. Maybe some OS create files with those bytes. It does looks like after those bytes has been put there editing the file don't remove them.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
