you need the main file to read. use layerdfs to extract the main. What do you need cheats for? I can take a look at it.
There are Extract NSP, NCA, XCI, Update all in one tool for LayeredFS and A Simple XCI, NCA, NSP Extracting Batch file (Just Drag and Drop) with Titlekey decrypt. I dont remember which one was "Better".

You picked a worse game for your first try with IDA PRO. I mean, it is possible but just a hint...Players health is bound to enemy health. If player has unlimited hp the enemy have too. So you have to modify the code a little bit instead of "nop" or "ret" the function. A simple "sub" or "add" will result in a fail also.

When I wrote games for android, I would always have a enemy base that i would call to for every enemy but never for both player and enemy. Well, as I said, maybe it's just me. I'm a noob in codemaking and my yooka laylee codes are deleted with the game. But if I remember right, you couldnt simple disable the damage function or nop the decreasing health address.
The second inf ammo didn't work for me, but the standalone info ammo for each weapon are flawless as is inf health

Both did not seem to do anything. Thinking it might be each individual Weapon only.
What I figure for doom 3 is, is that the pointer that I have found is tied to the player. That's why it works for the health and the extra ammo. It's weird though. Both me and retroboy found the address for what's in the guns to fire off but neither of us have been able to find a pointer that works...

I dont have much experience with searching values on the Switch version of this game, but I have looked at the savegame data on the PS4 and if its similar you might be able to get away with just skimming through the ascii text because they were nice enough to label everything.
I wish I could help but I dont have access to Noexs anymore and I really dont like using SXOS cheats unless I absolutely have to
