I have two chargers, an official one and a knock off. I only seem to be able to charge the console with the knock off charger. The problem is that with it the touch screen freezes.

The official one charges for a minute or so and then stops, or at least the indicator says it charges for a bit.

I also tried a mobile transformer that has the same output as the Vita one. It charges for a little bit longer and then stops two, but it doesn't freeze the screen.

I did the disconnect battery thing with the Battery Fixer plugin but seemed to have no effect.

Should I hunt for another official charger? Should any 5V / 1500 mA good transformer work? Should I hunt for another battery?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think your problem is battery. You tried 2 kinds of charger, include official sony. And had same result. About problem screen freeze, maybe is that knock off charger. Try another one like smart phone. With my vita 2k, charge with official charger or smart phone charger are normal. Not freeze, not stop.
