I did a bit of googling but didn't find an answer. I'm trying to change the ingame language of one game only.

My 3ds is set to English, but I need to change the ingame language of one game only to French. If I change the language in the system menu, all other games (except pokemon) use french. I have boot9strap and luma, can I do that somehow?

Is Pokemon the game your trying to get in French?

No, these games let you choose at the beginning of the game. I'm playing superstar saga in french, I heard it's funnier and since I happen to speak french I thought I'd check it out. working with Shadow#1's suggestion now... and it worked. Thanks, I really should revisit that wiki

As far I've encountered, once you choose a language in Pokemon, you can't change the language

I don't understand why some developers opt to not let the user decide what language to use, especially when they are already on the cart anyway... the most ridiculous I've seen was Forza Horizon 3, which sets the language based on the calender region settings in Windows!

You can't normally, but you can just use PKSM to change your language after you have selected one already, allowing you to get legit events from other regions.

I remember that, that was a pain, had to edit the game code itself to remove that function since I kept starting a new game every few weeks on it...

Anyway, just for future reference, Luma patching works for all games with multi-language just by making a .txt file, but for games that aren't like that, you have to get the romfs (with HackingTool9DS or something similar) of the version of the game you want the language to be and apply it as a patch in the same manner (eg: game is english, you want french, you take romfs of french version and use it like you used the .txt file to patch the language).

I guess they don't want to deal with people complaining they changed the language and couldn't change it back. Pretty lame with FH3, though. I think one of the most hilarious translation efforts goes to Final Fantasy X and the Al Bhed Primers--a language unknown to 99% of Earth until you find the primers to get a readable translation.

I found that out the hard way--too bad EventAssistant doesn't make that a standalone option, if able.
