Hacking Change DS VC screen orientation?

I'm wanting to change the orientation from portrait to landscape so I have the screens side by side rather than top and bottom. I read on Nintendo's site you have to press ZR to bring up the VC options to do it, however this does absolutely nothing. I'm running Cafiine to play injected roms so this could be the problem? Any way I can switch it to side by side? Having it top and bottom and holding the gamepad vertically is a PITA.

You can have the bottom screen itself on the top and the top on the GamePad (very useful for games that are mostly focused on the bottom screen), just look in the Tutorials section for a Phantom Hourglass thing.
Either that, or you get really messed up and ugly screens.
