Gaming CFW 5.03 replace it with OFW 5.03

If you have CFW 5.03 on a PSP 3000 , can you replace it with OFW 5.03 and how?

I believe if you run the update.pbp file from 5.03 that should then "update" you to OFW.
The question is though, what possible reason would you need to install OFW on your PSP?

Fully shut down the PSP. I believe as it is on a temp CFW.

Hold up the power switch until it turns off. or take out the battery. or cause it to freeze and crash.

Any way to fully shut it down will revert it to OFW.
