I have one question regarding CBHC.
What happens if you install CBHC and you don't have the SD card inserted into the Wii U when booting it up after CBHC is already installed?

Will it boot normally or will it blackscreen due to not finding the HBL executable?

It still works without SD Card if you use SysCFW (the SysNand is directly edited, but i don't know if you use Rednand....)

It will boot since it's hardcoded in system already.

Thanks, but i have a problem, after press Homebrew Launcher 2.1 apps work great, but if press "HOME" i have a black screen...
someone does anyone know how I can solve it?
THK
It shouldn't do that. Did you install it using browserhax or just by booting into HBL from CBHC quick menu?

As others already answered, the minicfw doesn't require SD; the HBL option will fail (displaying a small "-3" in the top left corner), but you can restart the console, cancel autoboot in case you had set HBL as default, and select an alternative without being forced to insert a SD

How come CBHC/Haxchi requires a legitmate eShop VC title?

Also what were to happen on CBHC if you were to unlink your NNID from your console?

Hello you guys... Please help... I think I've just bricked my Wii U... I was trying to update CBHC to 1.6 ... It was working fine on 1.5 and never had any problems... Just wanted to keep updated in order to prevent bricking...

I downloaded the new 1.6 CBHC files from the official website... The console was set to auto boot to patched system menu... Booted Homebrew Launcher channel and loaded the 1.6 CBHC file. The process was successful and it was installed using a legit eShop game... As before... After that, when I rebooted the console it was BRICKED. Error 160-0101... Is there something I can do to fix it or did I lose my console?

Please help... I followed the instructions.

How come CBHC/Haxchi requires a legitmate eShop VC title?
Each and every time that you turn on your console, it can only run legitimate titles until the haxchi sysmenu code (if that's what you're using for signature patching) has been executed. Since the system won't let a non-legit title start, if haxchi is installed into a VC title that isn't legitimate, the haxchi code will never be executed.

Think of it this way: You need a legitimate key to get into your lock-picking toolbox because your lock-picking tools are inside the box.

before I had: Homebrew Launcher 2.0, bought from the shop Brain Training and installed Haxchi v2.21u1.
Yes from HBL update before Haxchi v2.5u2 and after CBHC v1.6
reboot Wii U, select autoboot: fw.img on SD Card
Ultimate step, update HBL at 2.1 with wup installer and also in wii u\app\homebrew_launcher (before homebrew_launcher.elf now change in homebrew_launcher.prx)
inside folder Haxchi\config.txt is:
a=fw.img
b=sysmenu
default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf (change in: default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.prx)

any advice?

Are you sure you didn't try to update regular Haxchi as well/instead?

Is it normal for this to reload after closing the first app you launch? I have it set to auto load mocha and it boots fine but upon exiting any app it launches the exploit again, but then doesn't until the next reboot. Version number also seems to change whenever it wants.

Possibly unrelated but why does HBL crash after exiting when Wii U USB Helper was just loaded? I need to reload mocha.elf to fix it.

They should lock this thread altogether and its files alongside for advanced users only that know what they are doing installing or another good suggestion would be too take down the files altogether and make it master folder only for download so if you can compile the actual cbhc.elf file from the master folder then I would of thought you would know what you are doing installing it! I'm reading way to many comments these days on bricking using cbhc and its quite cringeworthy!

If you knew what you were doing why you asking for a nand backup. Nand backups are console specific you know. You can't use someone else's nand on yours.

I know this... I just want to compare files if possible and see if it can help, since my system menu should be good, except for the files or sectors CBHC modified...

I know it's a very long shot... I was thinking maybe I could dump the nand, decrypt it and fix the files responsible for booting... I don't know... Just wanted to have possibilities... Some files I can work with...

Edit config that Mocha uses?

thats your problem right there, dont use mocha and just set it to boot into system menu and let it use the internal cfw, I cant repeat that point more often, dont use it unless you use rednand.

CBHC uses an internal CFW?

Well... I need to read more. Set up my Wii U really fast to be fair so that's probably why.

    Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

    Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.
