Hacking catching missingno. in an emulator

Years ago, I had pokemon red version. I caught missingno and saved the game(like a dumbass). and it corrupted my game cartrage. I couldn't save my game after that. Even when I started a new game, it wouldn't save.

So my question is what would happen if you caught missingno. and saved the game in an emulator? like lameboy.

It corrupts the save, a common thing to happen. What to do against it: backup your save ofcourse. There is almost no possiblity that it will corrupt your rom

Well you can catch missingno. without it corrupting your save, but it's based more on chance than anything else. More than likely, however, he will.

I heard it wont corrupt if you place Missingno in your pc box before you save, but when you load it will be somthing else. i cant remember where i read that, though. might have been a troll site wanting me to corrupt my cart. xD

Simple answer: Yes. Catch 'M', not Missingno.
