Was wondering what y'all thought was the best software for capturing streaming video. I've tried WM Recorder, but the thing takes forever to close out and just seems buggy.

It depends what it is.
If you are talking about youtube, etc. that streams a file you can use orbit to download the FLV and then later convert it though with CCCP you can play most of them back in windows media player, etc. Though VLC can play everything one I have thrown at it.

Orbit can also be used to download other embedded media files.

If you are talking about some on demand service with protected files you will have to use a screen capture program and record the audio as well. This is processor intensive, but there are many programs out there to do it. Hypercam is the best I have used.

I'm using

1- Streambox VCR, works with almost every links and protocols (rtsp, pnm, http, ftp, mms), and works with filetype .ram, .asx, .smil, .pls, .mov (+other ?)
2- Tinra (usually .rm to .avi, but I think I already converted stream other than .rm to avi successfully)
3- VLC for the other streaming not working.
