Android Can't use controller on retroarch

I need help, i tried using retro arch on my Android tv, and i can't use my controller. I can use a keyboard but i can't use my controller, i can't even configure it cause no inputs i make are being processed. I dunno what to do, does anyone have this problem?

You probably need to map the buttons to the controller first through input settings
