I couldn't get httpwn working on my 11.0 n3DS, since I couldn't exit to the home menu, so I tried to uninstall menuhax. It gave me an error, saying that it could not be deleted. I have tried multiple times but to no avail. Is there a way to fix this, or am I screwed until an 11.0 kernel exploit?

    Change your home menu theme

But I really don't recommend that you do, what if you find a homebrew you like?

If you can't exit to the home menu, update your homebrew payload (reinstall the exploit) and update the boot.3dsx (found in the starter pack)

That will not fix anything. MenuHax for 10.6-11.0 (sdiconhax) has several downsides and side-effects, this being one of them.

Oh, then you will have to uninstall menuhax by changing the theme to a color theme.

Why do people always recommend the method for uninstalling themehax to people using sdiconhax?

    https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Extdata#SD_Extdata

Delete the folder associated with homemenu extdata from your SD card using something other than your 3DS. (NOT the whole Extra Data folder that has all your dowloaded game saves, had someone do that before, just delete the specific folder listed in the table for your region.)

I beleave there are 2 ways to uninstall menuhax

    1.change theme in home menu

2.delete the whole "3ds" folder on the root then drag over a fresh clean new one from the homebrew starter kit.

Again, changing the theme doesn't remove sdiconhax, as per the readme that I guess most of you haven't. Deleting the 3ds folder would do absolutely nothing to it, as it's in the home menu extra data.

    1. Doeson't work on latest menuhax. You will end up with a black screen on boot.
    2. Doesn't work either, latest menuhax injects some files on you /Nintendo 3DS folder rather than the 3ds folder.

The only way to remove menuhax is to enter HBL via menuhax itself then uninstall it using menuhax installer.

If you (OP) ended up with a black screen by following the "change the theme" tip, there's a thread somewhere here at gbatemp which will tell you what folder to delete to be able to boot again. The comment here a few posts back linked something, I haven't looked at it yet but I think we're on the same boat. Kindly check it out.

Edit: just checked, apparently he (@confogchan) linked a 3dbrew one, but he's on the right track. Follow what he said and you'll be out of the bootloop in no time.

    Edit2: Ninja'd.

So how would I access and delete the theme extdata? I just need a simple ExtData browser.

Ok.....my bad,so thats what you use,its the munuhax manager in the hbl and it gives you the option to uninstall it within the application. That's simple enough.

Btw doesn't menuhax remove itself from the sysnand after downgrading to 2.1.0 on decrypt9? i think that would be why you need to remove the 3ds folder anyway,so a9lh doesn't interfere with a previous menuhax install script of some sort which can get saved in the 3ds folder

sdiconhax and themehax are not the same thing, thus the method for uninstalling is different. one exploits the themes in the home menu, the other the icons themselves...

there's a folder associated with homemenu's extdata, but i'm not sure if it's this folder "0000008f" (for an USA console)

EDIT: Yes, plailect guide states that the homemenu's extdata are these following folders depending on your region.
try backing up (in case it doesn't work), then delete the following folder depending on your console's region.

Huh, the second method doesn't do anything related to Menuhax FYI...

I thought there where scripts in the menuhax manager folder or inside the 3ds folder since the a9lh tut tells you to delete the whole 3ds folder because of the chance that menuhax can interfere with a9lh during the a9lh install but apparently I'm wrong.

Yeah, that doesn't actually matter. What MenuHax can do is cause a black screen on boot, but the MenuHax files go in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS and not sdmc:/3ds .

Hmm so how exactly does menuhax get erased after the 2.1 downgrade?

you have to remove the sd card to launch 2.1 because menuhax messes it up, so you can't have menuhax on 2.1. i think you need to delete the Nintendo 3DS folder as well, which removes menuhax
