ive looked all over the web cant seem to find a legit guide but can you actually play games off a usb drive or just install can someone please by chance help me get a tutorial or guide im using atmosphere maybe i need something different ?

Atmosphère doesn't have HDD support yet, though it's in the works.
SXOS is the only custom firmware with HDD support right now.
I haven't personally used it, but I'm pretty sure you can run XCIs off of the HDD and install NSPs from it to your internal memory or SD. No way to install NSPs to the HDD.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

thats the one you can just buy the regular i dont need pro i have all the dongles and jig already ?
Yep, then you just buy the license. Save a few bucks. That's what I did, no problems.

If you mainly play on the TV and you have a hard disk, yes definitely worth it. Make sure to check out the app from julesontheroad that allows you to create xcis with updates and DLCs included. Really useful, as you don't need to install any nsp on your SD card or internal memory.
