Hacking Can you make the R4 GUI less complicated?

Okay I realize this doesn't help you but...

I'm only thirteen and I've taught 7 year olds how the R4 fully operates (from downloading roms to getting skins for themselves) in less then an hour...

Surely if you friends just sat down with them and explained it to them they'd get it faster than 7 year olds that have about a 5 minute attention span(oh yeah, believe me).

Sounds like you need an Ncard!

How could I not think of that!?

* Opens the drawer and looks at my N-Card
* Sees supercard in the back of the drawer
* Goes back to supercard.

Hehe, supercard still kicks ass for homebrew. It works with all (but 1?) roms too

Um... Do you realize how much harder it is for old people to learn than young people?

Exactly my point.. Its easy to train people.. I do it for a living.. But when they can even grasp what a 'file' or a 'directory' is, then there is no hope.

Believe me.. I have tried....

But can we just get this closed.. It was a simple question which has gone way out of hand.

None of the people that I am talking about are going to struggle with the GUI.. I just wanted all of the unused features to be removed.. I will be setting up their card with a selection of games.. They will never need or want to add more.. I just wanted a fixed list which they could select from.

This isn't a big deal.. I have already showed most of them that they simply press this and do this.. But dont do that.. But I just wanted to not have to tell them "don't do that"!

Ideally, the old Supercard (featureless) GUI would be best for this... But its no big deal.. Quite why people are making this one is beyond me.

Can we just let this drop.. You clearly will never understand my point.. You don't understand why I am asking.. Its clear that those people who do understand the R4 are from a generation of people who can't appreciate that there are people out there who WILL struggle to understand technology in all its forms.

There is no point in discussing this further...

Thanks too all for their help, its just a shame that the 2nd post which say "no it cant' be done" wasn't the last.

Cheers

Jon

You boot your Ncard to the Main game list. There is nothing closer to what the topic starter wanted. It is simpler than the R4. I should know! I own both!
