Hacking Can you disable Wiimote lights?

Are there any homebrew programs that can stop the four Player LEDs on a wiimote from turning on?

No, but you can manually remove the LED's. But why do you want to do that anyways?

Try removing the battery. I'm not sure it will work though.

If this is about saving power...then don't bother. LED's are very efficient, especially in small sizes like on a wiimote. I seriously doubt the difference with/without batteries would be even a minute (given two normal AA-batteries).


EDIT: as bowser mentions below: that should be "with/without LEDs" instead of "with/without batteries".

Erm...indeed.

The difference between wiimotes with and without batteries is...probably more than a few minutes.

I soldered a wire to the ground of the P1 LED on a wired 360 controller once (rapid fire mod).

Didnt work right. Tore off the wire, ripped off the trace. Now only P4 LED works XD

But seriously, the LEDs are damn small. Smaller than a quarter of a grain of rice.

I play in the dark, and the light from the LEDs, although fairly soft, still gets in the corner of my eye, It's annoying.

I can't seem to find any non-foreign site with the E-Tape homebrew app, could someone possibly link me to the program?
