Hacking Can wiiu emulators load roms from external hdd?

If I wanted to have multiple emulators with full sets that could be a lot of gb.

Can you store like all the snes, mame, etc roms on a hdd and load from that?

Does it have to load from sd card only?

Yes, but regarding external HDD you will need one with external power supply or Y cable.
