Hey all,

Wondering if anyone working on a Switch currently could test something out for me before I shell out for some parts.

Basically I bought a "just stopped working" Switch which... could have been the truth but they also didn't tell me they used a fork to take everything apart and had zero experience in electronic repair so pretty much every single ribbon cable is buggered.

I had posted a month back but was waiting on a couple cheap components to arrive, one of those being the new power ribbon since the old one was severed. I tossed the new power ribbon in there today but still don't get any signs of life.

Can anyone confirm for me if the LCD screen needs to be connected for a boot in docked mode? When I drop the console onto the dock, the LED will light up for a second (my guess is the charging circuit kicks in) but I can't get any life out of it yet.

Just so you see what I am dealing with, I've attached photos of the LCD ribbon -- that's why I would like to know if it'll boot simply unplugged before ordering a new screen.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for this?

CAD$120 with an OEM Dock and AC cable.

Wasn't expecting the insides to be trashed, that wasn't what was advertised but the price seemed fair with the dock and cable included. Up here the docks retail at $90 and $40 for the cable.
