Say I extract a savegame on one wii, could I successfully install it on another wii?
So you can (you should)
As far as I know saves games are encrypted with SD key. it's a shared key so every Wii should able to use them
Does it work for saves with Wi-Fi content, such as Mario Strikers, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero III, etc.?
Yes it does but there is a program called save game manager by waninkoko that does not require a dvd and its both programs in one.
It works for wifi saves but it might conflict like both cant play simultaneously .
If the saves aren't copy-protected, you don't need homebrew apps
I was able to transfer an Animal Crossing: City folk game from one wii to another but after I did I was not able to play online. I think it is because in the saved game I had already gotten a friend code assigned, apparently you can't use a friend code from one wii on another and there is no way to get another friend code without starting a new game. The rest of the the game did work perfectly though.
It could be easier if SaveGame Manager could handle .bin files, the ones used for normal extraction/instalaion of DL saves.
Is this possible? I mean to enable SGmanager to use bins
