Hi, I am new to the whole DS rom game thing. I bought an R4, looked for some instructions and started trying to make my brand new R4 work (it was produced in 2011 but new from Amazon). So no SD card was included because I didn't take the option and got to trying. So I formatted a 32 GB micro SD card to fat 32 and put the software from the site of the people who made my R4. It didn't work (I had to use wayback machine to get it, the site download page is offline for good) So I have tried some different techniques wich all didn't work. To be precise, when I put the SD card into my DS with the R4 and then launch the R4, it gets stuck on a white screen. Can someone help me with that I am losing my mind rn :/

These are relabeled R4DS Pro clones. You cannot use this flashcart on DSi or 3DS consoles without custom firmware, it was meant to run on the Original DS/DS Lite models only.

BL2CK kernel is currently supported. Never attempt to use YSMenu on this cart, as you can fully BRICK it!

Okay i'm trying it i will tell you if it works, thanks for the help ! And I'm trying to make it work with a DS Lite.

Okay, i might have bricked it. When i was trying to find a good firmware and used YSMenu. So it's not working, same white screen issue. Do you know where I can find a good R4 card wich is simple to make work ?

Yeah, this is why you shouldn't try any random kernel you find on the internet, as something can go horribly wrong if you didn't understood the risks when doing so. Never trust the website on the label, best to stick to well maintained kernels by the community that do support them.

R4DS Pro carts aren't generally recommended. You can find a list of supported flashcarts here that work with every DS model: https://www.flashcarts.net/ds-quick-start-guide?tab=unhacked
